What is the difference between Aeration and Thatching?

Aeration is beneficial application that loosen the soil, break roots to better penetrate seeds, water and nutrients. This application is done best in the spring and fall in the cooler times.
Thatching simply act like a power rake by removing dead grass and debris from the lawn. This application is also done is the spring or fall.
